Northern Adelaide Senior College (NASC) students embraced the spirit of empathy and solidarity on R U OK? Day, engaging in heartfelt discussions and a shared morning tea during recess today.
R U OK? is a vital public health promotion charity that encourages meaningful conversations, emphasizing the power of connection in supporting others through challenging times.
During the special morning tea, students gathered with case managers and Student Voice representatives, fostering an atmosphere of openness and understanding.
“R U OK? Day reminds us of the importance of genuine connections,” says Laura Sutherland, Student Voice case manager.
R U OK?’s mission, rooted in suicide prevention, emphasises the significance of investing time in personal relationships and empowering informal support networks.
NASC students actively contributed to this cause, displaying their commitment to being there for one another and promoting mental health and wellbeing within the school community.
Their actions reinforced the belief that a simple conversation can make a significant difference in someone’s life.
