Northern Adelaide Senior College (NASC) students enthusiastically participated in National Science Week, a vibrant celebration of science and technology from August 15 to August 19. This year’s theme, “Glass: More than meets the eye,” sparked curiosity among students, inviting them to explore the multifaceted world of glass.
National Science Week, an annual event, illuminates the significance of science and technology, and its profound impact on our lives. Since its inception in 1997, the event has inspired Australians of all ages, and 2022 proved to be no exception at NASC.
Embracing the Australian Government’s initiative to promote science engagement, NASC students engaged in various activities. One notable activity involved guessing the number of traffic light candies in a jar, showcasing their analytical skills and scientific reasoning. Additionally, captivating glass displays provided insight into the diverse applications of glass in our daily lives.
“National Science Week sparks curiosity and fosters a passion for science,” says Virginia Holt, Science and Mathematics leader at NASC.
“Our students’ active participation not only enhances their understanding of scientific principles but also fuels their interest in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.”
NASC’s involvement in National Science Week reflects its commitment to nurturing young minds, encouraging them to explore the wonders of science and inspiring future scientists and innovators.
