Northern Adelaide Senior College (NASC) Information Technology students have embarked on an exciting journey toward professional success as they secured coveted opportunities for further studies with Microsoft and the Department of Education.
A group of talented students have been selected to participate in a paid school-based apprenticeship with the Department of Education or choose to complete a Microsoft traineeship program, opening doors to a promising future in the world of technology.
The initiative, aimed at fostering the next generation of IT professionals, provides students with hands-on experience and training in real-world settings. Under the mentorship of experienced professionals, these students will gain practical insights into the evolving landscape of information technology, enhancing their skills and knowledge in areas such as software development, network administration, and cybersecurity.
“We are thrilled to see our Information Technology students seizing these opportunities. This partnership with the Department of Education not only enriches their education but also equips them with the practical skills required to excel in the IT industry,” said Craig Coleman, the IT teacher at NASC.
The paid school-based apprenticeship and Microsoft traineeship not only offer financial support to the students but also provide them with a chance to work on meaningful projects, applying their classroom learning to real-world challenges. This immersive experience will enable them to refine their skills, collaborate with industry professionals, and gain a deeper understanding of their chosen field.
“These opportunities are a testament to the talent and dedication of our Information Technology students,” says Andrea Williams, VET Coordinator at NASC.
“We are committed to providing pathways to success for our students, and this collaboration with the Department of Education exemplifies our commitment to their future.”
As these students embark on their apprenticeships and traineeships, they carry with them the support of their school and the hopes of a bright future.
