Northern Adelaide Senior College (NASC) Outdoor Education students at NASC embarked on an exciting adventure as they visited the picturesque Deep Creek Campgrounds as part of their assessment.
Nestled within the vast expanse of Deep Creek National Park, this area boasts the largest remaining natural vegetation on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
It serves as a sanctuary for an impressive array of native wildlife, including western grey kangaroos, short-beaked echidnas, and over 100 species of birds, creating a captivating ambiance for nature enthusiasts.
The students conquered a breath-taking waterfall hike, trekked halfway to a serene Cove by the coast, and mastered survival skills by setting up tents and cooking delicious meals on Trangia stoves for their assessment.
“Participating in Outdoor Education at NASC was a transformative experience,” says a SACE Stage 2 Outdoor Education student who attended the camp.
“Deep Creek Campgrounds was a memorable experience. The diversity of wildlife and hikes made me appreciate nature in a new light.”
